NEW DELHI: Savitri Minz, dressed in the same saree and cardigan she was wearing at the time of her arrest, looks bewildered as she walks into the mulaqaat chamber of the women''s prison in Tihar on Monday.
She scans the crowd across the double grill, spots this reporter, purporting to be an acquaintance come visiting, waving at Savitri. She doesn''t ask any questions, just looks at her visitor, then lowers her head as her eyes fill up with tears.
Asked if she needs medical attention, she replies in Hindi that she is feeling fine.
Soon, her story comes tumbling out: "I took Arpit because he was crying when I was about to leave (to see my mother). I did not want to leave him alone."
